As a resident of New Jersey, you enjoy the special rights of being covered under the Individual Coverage Program even if you have some pre-existing health problems. Whereas, in many U.S. States, people with such pre-existing health status are considered uninsurable. The residents of this state enjoy this special benefit because of the New Jersey Health Insurance Reform of 1992. Under this reform, two programs were created to ensure that coverage for all residents, no matter what their age, status or claims history is. These two programs, namely, the Individual Coverage Program (IHC) and the Small Employer Benefits Program (SEH) have changed the entire scenario of New Jersey Health Insurance.
NJ FamilyCare and Medicaid
The State Children’s Program- NJ FamilyCare is meant for the children less than 19 years and also covers those adults who cannot afford New Jersey Health Insurance. Medicaid is available for those residents who meet the required income and eligibility criteria.
State Assistance Program
