The latest development in the Massachusetts Health Insurance happened in the year 2006 with the enactment of the Massachusetts health care reform law. The law made it mandatory for almost every resident to have Massachusetts Health Insurance coverage along with subsidizing the cost of health care plans for the low-income residents. Individual Policies of Massachusetts Health Insurance

As a resident of this state, it is compulsory for you to have a good medical plan either through your employer or on your own. Massachusetts Health Insurance and MassHealth

As the Medicaid program designed by the government, MassHealth helps the poor in covering their health care requirements. Aged, disabled people as well as children under 19 and the pregnant women (income criteria applied) are eligible for this plan.

Medical Plans for Children & Elders

The two programs by the state, which deals with, the Medical needs of children and elders in this state are CMSP and SHINE. CMSP stands for the the Children’s Medical Security Plan and SHINE refers to Serving the Health Information Needs of the Elders. The CMPS program deals with providing the plans to those children below 19 years of age who are not eligible for the benefits of the MassHealth. Whereas SHINE is an information program for the elders and provides free counseling to the beneficiaries of the Medicare.
