Alaska Health Insurance is available to the individual residents in the form of three options. These options include Private Medical Coverage, Insurance through High Risk Pools and Health Insurance through Income Eligible Programs. Among the three options, the Private Health Insurance is offered by the private insurance companies operating in Alaska. There are some residents who are not able to obtain Alaska Health Insurance from private insurers because of their health conditions. The Comprehensive Health Pool offered by the Comprehensive Health Association is specially meant to serve these people to cover their Health Insurance needs. Whereas the Income Based the different Programs that are designed for those who are unable to afford the plans through the private companies or the associations.
